Job Summary:
Position Overview
You will be responsible for the effective management of warehouse operations and inventory control, ensuring that raw materials, consumables, and finished goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently to support fabrication and project delivery. The role requires accuracy in stock management, optimisation of warehouse space, and close coordination with procurement, production, logistics and project teams to maintain seamless supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goods Inward: Receive and inspect deliveries of raw materials, consumables and equipment; check quality, condition, and documentation.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records within the ERP/stock control system; carry out cycle counts and full stock takes; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Warehouse Operations: Organise and optimise storage layouts to ensure safe handling and efficient retrieval of steel, components, and consumables.
- Dispatch & Logistics: Prepare and load finished goods for delivery; coordinate with transport providers; ensure correct documentation accompanies shipments.
- Replenishment & Procurement Support: Monitor stock levels against reorder points; raise requests to procurement to avoid shortages and production delays.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in line with ODS policies; ensure all warehouse activities comply with manual handling, forklift operation, PPE, and H&S regulations.
- Traceability & QA Support: Record and maintain traceability of materials (e.g., steel, bolts, consumables) in line with EN 1090 and QA requirements.
- Reporting & KPIs: Provide weekly/monthly reports on stock accuracy, material availability, stock value, usage trends and wastage.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, engineering, and project teams to ensure materials availability aligns with project schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance warehouse performance.
Skills and Experience (Required):
- 3+ years’ experience in warehouse, stores or inventory control (engineering, construction or manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and ERP/stock systems.
- Forklift licence (counterbalance/telehandler or willingness to obtain).
- Proven ability to organise warehouse layout and control material flows.
- Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities; able to liaise effectively with multiple departments.
- Right to work in Ireland.
Desirable
- Experience handling steel or heavy industrial materials.
- Familiarity with EN 1090 traceability and QA requirements.
- Experience implementing Lean/5S warehouse practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools (Power BI or similar).
- Previous supervisory experience managing warehouse staff.
