The new facility features a robust double-span portal frame, spanning 54 meters with 20 bays to accommodate the main workshop area. Adjacent to this, the offices and showrooms are constructed using a two-storey beam and column steel design, complete with precast floors and stairs for enhanced durability and efficiency.
To accelerate the build programme, the finished floor slab was completed prior to steel erection. Recognising the risk of potential damage during steel delivery and installation, ODS implemented protective measures:
- Main steel elements were stored on stillages to avoid direct contact with the slab.
- A trolley system was used to hoist the portal frames, preventing any scraping or dragging of steel across the finished floor.
These strategic approaches ensured a flawless installation while maintaining the integrity of the completed floor slab, supporting both project timelines and quality standards.
