ODS Modular
Contract Type:
Full-time, Permanent
Who We Are
ODS Engineering is a leading Irish engineering and manufacturing company delivering high-quality off-site and modular construction solutions across the Data Centre, Energy, Power, Industrial and Infrastructure sectors in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
As ODS continues to grow its modular and data centre portfolio, we are investing heavily in expanding our in-house electrical engineering team to design repeatable, scalable, and high-quality modular solutions.
This appointment offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key technical leadership role within ODS Modular.
Tired of flying to/from construction projects – build mission-critical systems from a single Ireland base.
Role Description
This appointment offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key technical leadership role within ODS Modular’s expanding electrical engineering team.
The role is fully based at the ODS Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) facility in Ireland. All engineering, integration, assembly, and testing activities are completed off-site, within the factory environment.
You will be responsible for the electrical design, coordination, and delivery of modular systems, supporting projects from concept development through detailed design, factory integration, and final handover documentation.
This role is ideally suited to a senior electrical professional who wishes to:
- Maintain exposure to complex, mission-critical data centre systems.
- Achieve a stable, factory-based working pattern with no site rotations or travel demands.
Why Join ODS Modular?
- Fully off-site role based in Ireland.
- All modular electrical systems designed, built, and tested in-house.
- Long-term role within a growing Irish engineering organisation
- Opportunity to influence and standardise next-generation modular platforms.
- Work within a business with significant manufacturing scale and continued growth.
Modular Systems You Will Work On
- UPS Modules
- Switchgear & Transformer Modules (LV/MV)
- Generator Modules
- Cooling & Mechanical Interface Modules
- Network, Controls & Connectivity Modules
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Senior Electrical Engineer for modular data centre systems, taking ownership of electrical design from concept through to issued-for-manufacture status.
- Develop electrical designs for factory-built modular systems, including LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, earthing, controls, and auxiliary services.
- Produce and review core electrical deliverables such as SLDs, schematics, layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists, and technical specifications.
- Ensure electrical designs are standardised, repeatable, and optimised for off-site manufacture within the ODS OSM facility.
- Support modular product development and standard platform design to enable scalable delivery across multiple projects.
- Provide technical guidance during factory electrical installation, integration and testing, resolving design and interface issues as required.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant standards, client requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Review RFQ documentation to support the estimating team, interpreting project scope and developing accurate electrical cost inputs.
- Act as the electrical SME, supporting the project tendering team through tender reviews and negotiations on all electrical scopes.
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact for internal project teams, suppliers, and OEMs.
- Review and mentor the work of junior electrical engineers, supporting the growth of ODS’s in-house electrical capability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons-learned initiatives to enhance future modular designs.
- Strengthen internal capability to support the expansion of ODS Modular’s off-site delivery model.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical system design, ideally within data centres, power, energy, industrial or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Proven experience designing electrical systems incorporating LV/MV distribution, UPS systems, generators, earthing, and control systems.
- Strong experience producing SLDs, schematics, layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists, and technical documentation.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, supporting projects from concept through to detailed design.
- Ability to take technical ownership and work independently as a senior engineer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a practical and detail-driven approach.
- Experience with off-site manufacture, modular systems, or factory-based delivery.
- Familiarity with data centre electrical architectures and redundancy philosophies.
- Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent electrical design tools.
Salary & Benefits
- Highly competitive salary aligned with experience and responsibility.
- Permanent, full-time position within a stable, growing Irish engineering organisation.
- Standard working hours aligned to a factory and design-office environment.
- Predictable working patterns supporting work–life balance and long-term sustainability.
- Opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical data centre systems without site-based demands.
- Strong emphasis on career longevity, technical development, and progression
- Supportive and collaborative engineering culture within a multi-disciplinary team
- Relocation support considered for suitable international candidates
Role Summary
This role carries technical ownership rather than coordination responsibility, with a strong focus on electrical design excellence, modular repeatability, and factory-led delivery.
